Iida City, located in the southern part of Nagano Prefecture, has been promoting the usage of green energy sources, such as citizen-funded joint solar power systems and woody-biomass fuels utilizing the area's abundant forest resources.

With the high environmental awareness of its citizens, the city aims to continue developing a low-carbon society by promoting energy policies to make good use of the plentiful sunshine and our abundant local forest resources.
